I used to scour my grandmothers yard as a kid, gathering weed bouquets and dreaming of one day becoming a florist. I was about 2 1/2 ft high, the perfect hight for inspecting weeds. My Barbie dolls never wore store bought clothes if I had a few scraps of cloth to cut up and dress them in, and their castles and Cadillacs were made of Lego blocks. In school, I discovered drawing and painting, wooden block sculpting and building robots out of recycled fruit cartons. On the weekends, I'd make cheesy bead ornaments and use the household's entire supply of scotch tape and toilet paper rolls making some bizzare bird sculptures. Needless to say, creation has been a passion of mine since I was a little kid, and I've dabbled in several mediums. I discovered chainmaille several years ago while browsing the how-to books at my local craft store in Portland, OR. It was love at first sight! Now I'm putting all those years of creative passion into designing new and original jewelry pieces to sell on Etsy, and for me, it's even better than being a florist.
